What is seed paper?

Seeded paper is an eco-friendly paper made from recycled fibres, embedded with wildflower seeds. Once planted, the paper naturally composts into the soil — only the flowers remain.

No trees cut down

Made from 100% recycled fibres , fully biodegradable and compostable.

6 flower varieties

Annual wildflower seeds embedded directly into each sheet: Silene, Alyssum, Snapdragon, Gilia, Rudbeckia, and Clarkia.

Important tips

When to plant?

In spring, once nighttime temperatures are consistently above 10 °C (50 °F). In Quebec, wait until after the last frost.

Storing your card before planting

Keep the card in a cool, dry place away from light. It stays viable for up to two years.

Flowering depends on many factors: planting time, temperature, sunlight, and soil type.

Mayline Confection is not responsible for the outcome of the blooming process.

5 steps to plant your card

1.

Soak the paper

Submerge the card in water for about 1 hour, or thoroughly wet it before planting.

2.

Place it in the soil

Lay the paper flat in a pot or directly in the ground. You can tear it into pieces. Cover with about ½ cm of soil.

3.

Keep it moist

Keep the soil moist without overwatering. The first 10 days are critical , the paper must stay consistently damp for the seeds to germinate.

4.

Place in full sun

Put your pot or garden bed in a sunny spot, and make sure the soil never dries out between waterings.

5.

Watch your flowers grow

The first sprouts appear within days. The paper disappears naturally, absorbed into the soil.
